The Chudleigh Carnival Road Race takes place on Friday 17th July 2020 at 7.30 p.m. It is a fun but challenging hilly road race which takes place each year during Chudleigh Carnival week, attracting runners from all over the South West, both highly competitive and fun runners.
The race starts in the Fore Street outside the Bishop Lacy Public House, completing a small loop around the town centre before leaving Chudleigh at the southern end and winding its way up (mile long climb) and along the Chudleigh ridge.
Finally, the route drops back down into Chudleigh at the opposite end for a sprint finish along Fore Street finishing back outside the Bishop Lacy Public House.
There are lots of age group trophies and a technical T-shirt for every finisher.

RACE INSTRUCTIONS AND INFORMATION

PARKING
Parking is available in the town centre next to the Co-op, signposted from the memorial on Fore Street. Free after 6pm.
RACE HQ
This is in Chudleigh Town Hall. Number collection and on the night entries are available here.
TOILETS
There are toilets in the Town Hall, public toilets next to the Co-op and also in the Bishop Lacy public house.
BAG STORE
There is a bag store available outside Quest for Zest Gym, opposite the Spar on Fore Street. Bags are left at your own risk.
RACE START
The race start and finish is outside the Bishop Lacy public house on Fore Street. The race will commence at 7.30pm
RACE ROUTE
The race route will be marked by yellow arrows on the road, yellow signs and mile markers, and will also be marshalled.
DRINKS STATION
There will be two drinks stations; one at approximately 3 miles and one at the finish.
TRAFFIC
There will be a road closure in place in the town centre. However you may encounter traffic whilst in the lanes so please be vigilant.
HEADPHONES
The wearing of headphones whilst running is not permitted.
RUNNERS’ MOMENTO
All runners will receive a technical T-Shirt once they have crossed the finish line.
PRIZE GIVING
Prizes will be awarded as soon as possible after the race has finished outside the Bishop Lacy.
